Port Aransas Municipal Court was first built in 1849 in the Nueces Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1869. Four courthouses have been built in Port Aransas. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
