Rockport Municipal Court serves the residents of Aransas County, the 160th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Rockport Municipal Court was first built in 1889 in the Aransas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1880. Four courthouses have been built in Rockport. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
