Aransas Pass Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1903 in the San Patricio Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1862. Four courthouses have been built in Aransas Pass. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
