Dickinson Municipal Court was first built in 1911 in the Galveston Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1899. Four courthouses have been built in Dickinson. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
