Bacliff Justice Court serves the residents of Galveston County, the 104th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Bacliff Justice Court was first built in 1896 in the Galveston Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1865. Four courthouses have been built in Bacliff. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
