Timpson Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1896 in the Shelby Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in April 1860. Four courthouses have been built in Timpson. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
