Garrison Municipal Court serves the residents of Nacogdoches County, the 6th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Garrison Municipal Court was first built in 1847 in the Nacogdoches Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1893. Four courthouses have been built in Garrison. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
