El Lago Municipal Court serves the residents of Harris County, the 187th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. El Lago Municipal Court was first built in 1917 in the Harris Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1872. Four courthouses have been built in El Lago. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
