Friendswood Municipal Court serves the residents of Galveston County, the 104th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Friendswood district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Friendswood Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2014 and has dedicated his life serving the Friendswood. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Galveston County Courthouse. The Friendswood Municipal Court is located on 910 South Friendswood Drive in the city of Friendswood, the Galveston county seat.

The administration of justice in the Friendswood Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Galveston County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Galveston County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Friendswood Municipal Court was first built in 1920 in the Galveston Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1890. Four courthouses have been built in Friendswood. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 281-996-3252 to the court during office hours to get more information.
