Huntington Municipal Court serves the residents of Angelina County, the 108th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Huntington Municipal Court was first built in 1866 in the Angelina Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1859. Four courthouses have been built in Huntington. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
