Angelina County Court at Law was first built in 1912 in the Angelina Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1880. Four courthouses have been built in Lufkin. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
