Angelina District Court serves the residents of Angelina County, the 108th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Lufkin district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Angelina District Court judge has been in office since 2017 and has dedicated his life serving the Lufkin. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Angelina County Courthouse. The Angelina District Court is located on 215 East Lufkin Avenue in the city of Lufkin, the Angelina county seat.

The administration of justice in the Angelina District Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Angelina County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Angelina County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Angelina District Court was first built in 1887 in the Angelina Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1892. Four courthouses have been built in Lufkin. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 936-639-3913 or fax 936-639-3917 to the court during office hours to get more information.
