US EPA Region 6’s Functions
The US EPA Region 6 is divided into several divisions, responsible for overseeing various activities. Below are some of them:
- Division of air and radiation -The division executes the sections of the Clean Air Act that aren’t covered by the Enforcement and Compliance Assurance Division in the five states of US EPA Region 6.
- Division of land, chemical, and redevelopment- The division is responsible for implementing parts of the resource conservation and the Recovery Act, such as solid waste management, leaking underground storage tank management, and waste management,
- The water division – The division protects human health and also helps to support economic and recreational activities. It provides a healthy habitat for aquatic life, plants, and wild animals by ensuring the safety of drinking water and restoring and maintaining watersheds and their marine ecosystems.

Office Visiting Hours and Visitation Process
The US EPA Region 6 is open for business from morning till six in the evening on regular working days. However, the US EPA Region 6 restricts pedestrian access to the building during after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
When you arrive at the US EPA Region 6, you should proceed to the reception and security lobby. You will be screened, and after successfully passing security screening and obtaining EPA sponsorship, EPA federal facility access may be granted. It’s important to note that weapons are not permitted in federal buildings. To be sponsored as a visitor by the EPA, visitors must present an actual nationally issued ID Act compliant identification (current ID with photo).
