Wise County Court serves the residents of Wise County, the 42th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Decatur district clerk and county clerk. The current Wise County Court judge has been in office since 2019 and has dedicated his life serving the Decatur. Wise County Court was first built in 1867 in the Wise Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1870. Four courthouses have been built in Decatur. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
