Aurora Municipal Court was first built in 1871 in the Wise Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1853. Four courthouses have been built in Aurora. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
