Poth Municipal Court serves the residents of Wilson County, the 120th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Poth Municipal Court was first built in 1864 in the Wilson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1879. Four courthouses have been built in Poth. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
