Taylor Justice of Peace Court serves the residents of Williamson County, the 222th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Taylor district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Taylor Justice of Peace Court judge has been in office since 2015 and has dedicated his life serving the Taylor. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Williamson County Courthouse. The Taylor Justice of Peace Court is located on 211 West 6th Street in the city of Taylor, the Williamson county seat.

The administration of justice in the Taylor Justice of Peace Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Williamson County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Williamson County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Taylor Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1883 in the Williamson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1908. Four courthouses have been built in Taylor. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 512-352-2161 to the court during office hours to get more information.
