Florence Municipal Court serves the residents of Williamson County, the 222th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Florence Municipal Court was first built in 1858 in the Williamson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in January 1904. Four courthouses have been built in Florence. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
