Florence Municipal Court serves the residents of Williamson County, the 222th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Florence district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Florence Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2015 and has dedicated his life serving the Florence. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Williamson County Courthouse. The Florence Municipal Court is located on 106 South Patterson Avenue in the city of Florence, the Williamson county seat.

The administration of justice in the Florence Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Williamson County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Williamson County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Florence Municipal Court was first built in 1858 in the Williamson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in January 1904. Four courthouses have been built in Florence. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 254-793-8037 or fax 254-793-3766 to the court during office hours to get more information.
