Shamrock Municipal Court serves the residents of Wheeler County, the 56th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Shamrock Municipal Court was first built in 1847 in the Wheeler Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1891. Four courthouses have been built in Shamrock. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
