Brenham Municipal Court serves the residents of Washington County, the 152th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Brenham Municipal Court was first built in 1910 in the Washington Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1904. Four courthouses have been built in Brenham. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
