Reeves District Court serves the residents of Ward County, the 115th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Reeves District Court was first built in 1869 in the Ward Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1908. Four courthouses have been built in Monahans. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
