Upton County Court serves the residents of Upton County, the 212th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Rankin district clerk and county clerk. The current Upton County Court judge has been in office since 2014 and has dedicated his life serving the Rankin. Upton County Court was first built in 1882 in the Upton Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in June 1920. Four courthouses have been built in Rankin. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
