Sarah Eckhardt

Jonestown City Hall serves the residents of Travis County, the 248th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Jonestown district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Jonestown City Hall judge has been in office since 2016 and has dedicated his life serving the Jonestown. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Travis County Courthouse. The Jonestown City Hall is located on 18649 Farm to Market Road 1431 in the city of Jonestown, the Travis county seat.

The administration of justice in the Jonestown City Hall is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Travis County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Travis County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Jonestown City Hall was first built in 1860 in the Travis Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in January 1861. Four courthouses have been built in Jonestown. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 512-267-3243 or fax 512-267-4572 to the court during office hours to get more information.
