San Angelo Municipal Court was first built in 1903 in the Tom Green Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1911. Four courthouses have been built in San Angelo. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
