Titus County Court serves the residents of Titus County, the 166th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Mount Pleasant district clerk and county clerk. Titus County Court was first built in 1878 in the Titus Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1911. Four courthouses have been built in Mount Pleasant. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
