Tye Municipal Court serves the residents of Taylor County, the 50th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Tye Municipal Court was first built in 1914 in the Taylor Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1889. Four courthouses have been built in Tye. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
