Sansom Park Municipal Court serves the residents of Tarrant County, the 74th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Sansom Park Municipal Court was first built in 1870 in the Tarrant Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1871. Four courthouses have been built in Fort Worth. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
