Arlington Municipal Court serves the residents of Tarrant County, the 74th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Arlington district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Arlington Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2016 and has dedicated his life serving the Arlington. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Tarrant County Courthouse. The Arlington Municipal Court is located on 101 South Mesquite Street in the city of Arlington, the Tarrant county seat.

The administration of justice in the Arlington Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Tarrant County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Tarrant County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Arlington Municipal Court was first built in 1853 in the Tarrant Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1866. Four courthouses have been built in Arlington. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 817-459-6980 or fax 817-459-6956 to the court during office hours to get more information.
