Stephens County Court serves the residents of Stephens County, the 45th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Breckenridge district clerk and county clerk. The current Stephens County Court judge has been in office since 2013 and has dedicated his life serving the Breckenridge. Stephens County Court was first built in 1904 in the Stephens Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1878. Four courthouses have been built in Breckenridge. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
