Roma Municipal Court serves the residents of Starr County, the 214th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Roma Municipal Court was first built in 1919 in the Starr Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1880. Four courthouses have been built in Roma. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
