Bullard Municipal Court serves the residents of Smith County, the 18th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Bullard Municipal Court was first built in 1874 in the Smith Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1874. Four courthouses have been built in Bullard. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
