Sabine District Court II serves the residents of San Augustine County, the 155th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the San Augustine district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Sabine District Court II judge has been in office since 2017 and has dedicated his life serving the San Augustine. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic San Augustine County Courthouse. The Sabine District Court II is located on 100 West Columbia Street in the city of San Augustine, the San Augustine county seat.

The administration of justice in the Sabine District Court II is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the San Augustine County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at San Augustine County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Sabine District Court II was first built in 1901 in the San Augustine Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1904. Four courthouses have been built in San Augustine. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 936-275-9634 to the court during office hours to get more information.
