Henderson Municipal Court serves the residents of Rusk County, the 23th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Henderson Municipal Court was first built in 1888 in the Rusk Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1852. Four courthouses have been built in Henderson. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
