Red River District Court I serves the residents of Red River County, the 245th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Clarksville district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Red River District Court I judge has been in office since 2016 and has dedicated his life serving the Clarksville. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Red River County Courthouse. The Red River District Court I is located on 1805 South Delaware Street in the city of Clarksville, the Red River county seat.

The administration of justice in the Red River District Court I is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Red River County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Red River County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Red River District Court I was first built in 1920 in the Red River Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1891. Four courthouses have been built in Clarksville. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 903-427-2274 to the court during office hours to get more information.
