Red River District Court I was first built in 1920 in the Red River Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1891. Four courthouses have been built in Clarksville. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
