Lake Tanglewood Municipal Court serves the residents of Randall County, the 43th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Amarillo district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Lake Tanglewood Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2019 and has dedicated his life serving the Amarillo. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Randall County Courthouse. The Lake Tanglewood Municipal Court is located on 1000 Tanglewood Drive in the city of Amarillo, the Randall county seat.

The administration of justice in the Lake Tanglewood Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Randall County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Randall County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Lake Tanglewood Municipal Court was first built in 1856 in the Randall Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1861. Four courthouses have been built in Amarillo. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 806-622-8711 to the court during office hours to get more information.
