Canyon Municipal Court serves the residents of Randall County, the 43th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Canyon Municipal Court was first built in 1906 in the Randall Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1850. Four courthouses have been built in Canyon. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
