Fort Stockton Municipal Court was first built in 1895 in the Pecos Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1889. Four courthouses have been built in Fort Stockton. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
