Municipal Court serves the residents of Orange County, the 170th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Vidor district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2014 and has dedicated his life serving the Vidor. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Orange County Courthouse. The Municipal Court is located on 1330 1st Street in the city of Vidor, the Orange county seat.

The administration of justice in the Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Orange County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Orange County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Municipal Court was first built in 1899 in the Orange Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1919. Four courthouses have been built in Vidor. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 409-769-7452 to the court during office hours to get more information.
