Perryton Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1853 in the Ochiltree Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in January 1858. Four courthouses have been built in Perryton. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
