Kenedy District Court was first built in 1916 in the Nueces Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1891. Four courthouses have been built in Corpus Christi. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
