Nolan District Court serves the residents of Nolan County, the 58th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Nolan District Court was first built in 1908 in the Nolan Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1908. Four courthouses have been built in Sweetwater. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
