Mills County Court serves the residents of Mills County, the 132th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Mills County Court was first built in 1917 in the Mills Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1906. Four courthouses have been built in Goldthwaite. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
