McLennan District Court II was first built in 1875 in the McLennan Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1903. Four courthouses have been built in Waco. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
