McLennan District Court I was first built in 1870 in the McLennan Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1900. Four courthouses have been built in Waco. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
