Tahoka Municipal Court serves the residents of Lynn County, the 95th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Tahoka Municipal Court was first built in 1912 in the Lynn Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1866. Four courthouses have been built in Tahoka. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
