Tahoka Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1907 in the Lynn Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1883. Four courthouses have been built in Tahoka. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
