Buffalo Springs Municipal Court was first built in 1888 in the Lubbock Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in April 1870. Four courthouses have been built in Lubbock. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
