Horseshoe Bay Justice of Peace Court serves the residents of Llano County, the 12th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Horseshoe Bay district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Horseshoe Bay Justice of Peace Court judge has been in office since 2011 and has dedicated his life serving the Horseshoe Bay. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Llano County Courthouse. The Horseshoe Bay Justice of Peace Court is located on 101 Ferguson Road in the city of Horseshoe Bay, the Llano county seat.

The administration of justice in the Horseshoe Bay Justice of Peace Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Llano County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Llano County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Horseshoe Bay Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1909 in the Llano Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1907. Four courthouses have been built in Horseshoe Bay. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 830-598-2296 or fax 830-598-5231 to the court during office hours to get more information.
