Live Oak County Court serves the residents of Live Oak County, the 234th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Live Oak County Court was first built in 1911 in the Live Oak Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1896. Four courthouses have been built in George West. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
