Lipscomb Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1878 in the Lipscomb Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1872. Four courthouses have been built in Booker. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
